Show Notes

My vision for ECE has always been for ALL children to get equal access to high quality care and education during their first 5 years of life. Although my mother immigrated to the U.S. from Honduras as a young woman, I have lived a privileged life.

From early on in my ECE career I saw children being treated differently due to their socioeconomic status. This was one of the reasons I became a child care center owner.

A child's race or families income should NOT be the determining factor for what kind of ECE program the child can get into.

We can do our part in helping children grow up to be accepting and kind to all people regardless of their race, economic status, health or based on any disabilities they may have. We can also help educate parents on how to achieve this.
